C# is the foundation programming language for the Microsoft .NET framework for building web and desktop applications. C# is an object oriented programming language and students will learn the basics of OOP programming and its importance in programming design.
Students will be taught C# language features, compiling and running code, handling exceptions, reading and writing files, and addressing common compilation issues through debugging.
The tool that will be used to create and compile all code examples will be the free tool Microsoft Visual Studio Express 2013 Desktop, which allows students to understand how to use a real IDE for programming and development.
After taking this class, students will be prepared to take the ASP.NET Web Development classes at eClasses.org as well as understand how any programming language can be used for RAD Rapid Application Development).
Class Objectives::
- Basic C# syntax: variables, conditional statements, loops, arrays, classes and objects
- Understanding what an "object" is and how it is interpreted by C#.
- How to use and create projects using Microsoft Visual Studio
- Learn the importance of using classes and objects.
