HTML Course

Online HTML Course - Intermediate Level
Class Name

HTML Level 2

Ready to go beyond HTML I? HTML I covered the Transitional, or loose DTD. This class covers the Strict DTD. You'll learn how to use simple Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) techniques within HTML tags so that you will no longer need to use deprecated (obsolete) tags. This will allow your pages to validate correctly with the Strict DTD.

This class also covers more complex tables, and briefly covers form layout (presentation), image maps, a brief introduction to Universal Accessibility, and JavaScript within the confines of HTML tags. Incorporating multimedia files (audio and video) are also briefly covered. CSS and JavaScript are discussed on a very basic level and the goal is to introduce students to tools that enhance HTML and add dynamic content to web pages.

By the conclusion of this course, students will have developed a web site of their choosing, will be familiar with the HTML Strict DTD, understand how to use CSS and JavaScript inline, will know how to use Bobby to make their sites more accessible and will have received some basic site design feedback.

Students completing this course will be prepared to take the introductory courses in CSS, JavaScript, Universal Accessibility, and XHTML.

Students can discuss the assignments with the instructor and amongst themselves in the classroom area. This format has no set meeting time, which allows students to attend class at a time most convenient to them, yet still provides logically organized communication between class participants.
