This course will look at how small businesses are successfully taking advantage of the Internet to promote their business. Using case studies, online research and other planning tools you'll begin to develop a web strategy that can be implemented for your own business. Ideally this research should be done before you have a web site -- however if you already have a web site that is not performing as you think it could, this class will help you discern what you should do now. Prerequisites This course requires a general familiarity of the Internet, with 1 year of experience on the Web recommended. While not required, students who have had courses in web technologies or programming related to web page design will find it useful. Requirements Internet access is required. You should also have a good amount of time to assimilate the material brought out in class, to do some online research, and to develop your web site's own marketing strategy.
